Lis Allison is a potter living the dream with her border collie in the woods. Her story started when she was 3 or 4 and she decided to cover all the sidewalks in Paris, Ontario with her chalk drawings. It continued through adolescent (drawing flowers … too slow), photography (much quicker), and then courses in pottery at the University of Calgary where she talked her way in by telling a prof she had the departments permission and the department that she had the prof’s permission.
Her inspirations? Her garden, native plans, ferns and other artists.
At our June meeting, Lis will be demonstrating how to paint tiles. Participants will have an opportunity to paint their own which she will later fire and make available for pick-up at Art in the Park on July 14.
